REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Butterfly Kisses Headbands

The Business
Shawna Brown has a knack for creating fun, eye-catching accessories.  Though she creates feature items such as tutus as well, Butterfly Kisses' focus is as the name suggests... in headbands and hair accessories.  You can find hats, headbands, and clips, flowers, bows, and even dolls and Disney Princesses all neatly organized and well-presented on her Facebook storefront.
Shawna is very polite, and runs her business with enthusiasm. She is quick to respond to emails, and messages left on her page, and is equally quick to ship her products.  You can regularly find her running a great sale, like Buy One Get One Free, while at the same time having an album dedicated to a wide selection of sale items.  I got my headband through a fun game she held for Easter - she had a basket of eggs, each containing a surprise product or a discount, or both as I was to find!

The Products
To my surprise, Butterfly Kisses Headbands is a Canadian company, which was nice because my headband arrived very quickly and despite the simple packaging, in perfect condition.  One problem I have found with white products of any nature, bought from a retail store or otherwise, is that you can't even get them out of the store white, many already have dust or spots, but I was very happy to find that the white headband was immaculate.  The fabric of the headband itself is very family friendly... it has still not picked up any spots or dust, picks up very little fluff (and in a house with three cats, that's amazing!), and does not snag easily (should the little one decide she wants to use it as a cat toy).  The flower with it's gemstone centre is attached firmly and after months of use, shows no signs of letting loose.  This headband normally retails at $5 and is definitely worth it, it's well-made and looks great!  I fully intend to use my discount the next chance I get, as product quality like this is not a fluke and I would love to have more hair accessories that will hold up to a rough life-style like that with a three-year-old.  Oh, and just to add the icing to the cake, Shawna offers great shipping rates to Canada and the U.S., that is, when you don't manage to get in on her free shipping sales!

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - Sunrise Mosaics

 *Unsolicted Review*

Sunrise Mosaics

The Business
A woman after my own heart.  Dawn Allen is a Jill-of-All-Trades... she makes jewelry, greeting cards, and a number of other artsy products, she is a photographer, and she even decorates cakes!
Dawn is a very personal business woman.  She greets each new fan (friend) to her Facebook page with a kind and very inviting message describing herself and her business.  Her words are kind and many of her efforts actually go out to supporting her fellow businesses by promoting their pages or donating prizes to their giveaways.
She is very prompt at responding to messages and inquiries, and is very efficient, completing orders and mailing them very quickly.  Her products arrive well-packaged, great care is obviously taken to ensure that nothing is damaged in the mail, and she makes a point to check in and ensure that everything arrived and meets the customers satisfaction.

The Products
Always doing her best to accommodate you, Dawn offers products that are completely customizable and is always expanding her 'library' of images for you to apply to her most popular product line, Scrabble Tile Pendants.  At the same time, she leaves room for anyone to choose their own photos or images if they choose, and then you will be presented with a photo proof before the product is composed.  Once you have chosen your images, you can then choose to have the pendant put on a necklace chain or a charm bracelet, or made into a key chain or even earrings.
I received 2 necklaces.  Each necklace having a Scrabble Tile pendant with a photograph I had taken myself.  The bail was sturdy and the glaze was smooth and non-tacky.  The image itself, for both pendants was crisp and fully saturated colour... no fading, speckling or the like.  I am very pleased with how they both turned out, and it is almost guaranteed that I will return to Dawn for more because I am completely satisfied with the quality of the work she has done, and at a very affordable price.  Each Scrabble Pendant only costs $7, whether you are using your own image or one she has supplied.  To add it to a necklace adds only $5, to a charm bracelet only $2.50.  Key chains will add only $3.00 and a pair of earrings (that's 2 Scrabble Tile Pendants) will only cost $12!  Dawn has very competitive prices for what she offers... most other 'shops' or 'boutiques' will cost you $2 more for just the pendant, and adding it to any type of jewelry or finding will often run an additional couple dollars just to themselves.

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - DeDa Studio

 *Unsolicted Review*

DeDa Studio
Fused Glass & Smelly Jellies

The Business
Behind multiple tidy and professional web fronts, on Facebook, Blogger, Etsy, and at her own domain, Dawn Wallace runs an equally professional and, at the same time, personal business offering one-of-a-kind fused glass jewelry and decorations, and long-lasting scented jellies for improving the comfort of any room.
Dawn presents herself and her business well.  She offers frequent deals and often can be found donating to the giveaways held by other businesses, helping others to gain attention and allowing her fans a chance at winning her great products for free.  She is polite and prompt when making business transactions, answering questions and getting any needed information regarding prices and shipping with little wait time, if any.  As I am in Canada, her Etsy shop was not set up to complete my order, but once I had let her know exactly what I wanted she sent an invoice my way.  She shipped my order very quickly and all the products arrived carefully packed and in perfect condition.
My completed order consisted of 3 Smelly Jellies and an already made bracelet.  I very much enjoyed making my order through her for both ease and enjoyablity and would be obliged to do so again in the future.

The Products
Fused Glass Jewelry
Dawn's design creativity is shown effectively through the jewelry she makes with vibrant and interesting combinations of colours.  Her jewelry is well-made... sturdy and clean.  All links are completely closed and there is no visible glue or adhesive joining the smooth bubbles of glass to their mounts.  Even when handled vigorously there were no rough areas or places to snag.  When presented to my art critic 3-year-old, the bracelet received rave reviews on the colours and level of 'sparkliness'.
When compared to similar products on the market, the fused glass bracelet that I received was lower than average cost, being less than $15 when other products made with similar materials usually were around $30.  Compared to the similar factory-made jewelry items in terms of quality, I would definitely say that this bracelet is better in both visual and physical aspects.

Smelly Jellies
A Smelly Jelly, explained simply, is a flame-free scented candle.  That alone is enough to catch my interest as having 3 cats and a 3-year-old and a fire burning anywhere in my house is something I'm not completely comfortable with!  The safety aspect of that alone was, in my opinion, well worth the $3.  Matching the volume of a Smelly Jelly with a scented candle, only the low-end candles would be able to come close, but if you then compare the life-span of both products: 3-6 hours for a scented candle, or 3-6 MONTHS for a Smelly Jelly, then you really get to see the value.
I have received the 'Sandalwood' and 'Vanilla' scents and have found them to be bold, but still very pleasant.  One of the three Smelly Jellies I ordered was intended for a friend.  Her scent was 'Sandalwood' but she also took a whiff of my vanilla and she was very pleased with how bold the scents were without being overpowering or chemical.  My friend, who regularly buys scented candles and incense, was amazed at the low price, and at the claim to the product's lifespan of 3-6 months.
After opening the jelly, all you are instructed to do is add a small bit of water to maintain the moisture and the scent.  You can be sure that 3 and 6 months from now I will do a re-review of these jellies to let you all know how they have fared for my friend and myself, though, I don't expect to be disappointed.
